The POD DOME™ Medium Grow Your Own Fish Food Kit gives you a guided way to grow amphipods outside your display aquarium, gather them inside one known structure, and deliver living food to your fish when you choose.

Instead of pouring loose amphipods into your aquarium and immediately losing sight of them in the rockwork, you load the POD DOME™ inside an aerated transfer container. Once the pods have gathered inside, you move the entire container underwater and place the loaded dome where your fish can reach it.

You know where the pods are. You control when they enter the aquarium. Your fish get access to living food without the entire bag being poured loose into the display.

How the POD DOME™ Method Works

1. Set up your separate grow station.
   Use the included food, habitat materials, aeration, tools, and guides to begin growing and managing your amphipods outside the display aquarium.
2. Let the amphipods enter the POD DOME™.
   Place the Medium POD DOME™ with the amphipods inside the aerated transfer container. Give the pods time to gather inside the dome.
3. Lower the entire container into your aquarium.
   Keep the transfer container submerged as aquarium water enters. A few amphipods may swim out when the water moves, so leave the container underwater for several minutes while they resettle.
4. Place the loaded POD DOME™.
   Remove the dome from the transfer container while everything remains underwater. Position it where your fish can reach the pods, then remove the empty container.
5. Return it to your grow station and reload.
   When you are ready, move the POD DOME™ back to your separate grow system and allow the next group of amphipods to gather inside.

The Most Important Part: Move It Underwater

Do not lift a loaded POD DOME™ out of the transfer container and drop it into your aquarium.

Lower the entire transfer container into the aquarium. Keep it submerged for several minutes so amphipods displaced by the incoming water have time to move back inside the dome.

Then remove the loaded POD DOME™ underwater and place it in your aquarium.

This matters most in tanks with extensive rockwork. Once loose amphipods disappear into hundreds of cracks and hiding places, you may never see them again.
