The POD DOME™ Large Grow Your Own Fish Food Kit gives you a guided way to gather amphipods in one known location, move them underwater, and place living food where your pod-eating fish can reach it.

Instead of pouring loose amphipods into your display and immediately losing sight of them in the rockwork, you let them enter the POD DOME™ inside an aerated transfer container. Once the dome is loaded, you move the entire container into your aquarium, allow the pods to resettle, and place the dome where you want it.

You can see where the pods gather. You control where the loaded dome goes. Your fish get access to living food without the entire shipment being poured loose into the tank.

How It Works

1. Set up your separate grow station.
   Use the included food, habitat materials, aeration, tools, and guides to create and manage your live-food system.
2. Load the POD DOME™.
   Place the dome with the amphipods in the aerated transfer container and allow them time to move inside.
3. Move the entire container underwater.
   Lower the transfer container into your aquarium. As aquarium water enters, a few pods may swim out. Keep the container submerged for several minutes so they have time to resettle inside the dome.
4. Place the loaded dome.
   Remove the POD DOME™ underwater and position it in your aquarium. Then remove the empty transfer container.
5. Return and reload.
   Move the POD DOME™ back to your separate grow station when you are ready to load it again.

The Critical Transfer Step

Do not lift the loaded POD DOME™ out of the transfer container and drop it directly into your aquarium.

Move the entire transfer container into the aquarium and keep it submerged for several minutes. This gives amphipods displaced by the incoming aquarium water time to move back inside the dome before you place it.

This step is especially important in aquariums with extensive rockwork, where escaped pods can quickly disappear from view.
