Refugium Pack

Jump-start your refugium’s biodiversity and natural nutrient export with a curated bundle of live microfauna and macroalgae.

What’s Included

Benefits

  • Grow your pods — seed and sustain a thriving copepod/amphipod population
  • Natural food — live microfauna support fish & coral nutrition
  • Reduce nitrates — macroalgae uptake helps with nutrient control

How to Use

  1. Acclimate contents to tank temperature (float sealed bags for 15–20 minutes).
  2. Rinse macroalgae in clean saltwater; place in refugium with moderate flow and light.
  3. Add pods after lights out to rock/sump areas; reduce mechanical filtration for 12–24 hrs.
  4. Seat mangrove propagule with the tip above water; provide strong light and stable salinity.

Care Notes

  • Lighting: macroalgae prefer a reverse photoperiod (when display is off).
  • Harvest: trim Caulerpa regularly to export nutrients and prevent die-off.
  • Refugium flow: gentle to moderate; provide hiding structure for pods (chaeto/rock).

Note: Exact macroalgae color/shape can vary. Inspect and rinse before placement. Quarantine is recommended for sensitive systems.
