We have copepods for sale at AquariumDepot.com - where you can buy copepods online 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year!

Did you know copepods are a key element in the support of a healthy and thriving saltwater aquarium?

Copepods and Amphipods play a vital role in the natural transport of excess food, waste, algae and detritus.  They consume 10 times their body weight in food matter every day.  This allows their reproductive cycle to stay highly efficient, reproducing every 7-10 days.

Your aquarium will benefit from this effective survival of the fittest strategy in several ways:

1. A reduction in waste will result in less water quality issues as well as increase the stabilization of your tank.

2. Reproduction of Copepods & Amphipods will seed your tank for picky eaters like Sea Horses, Mandarin Gobies, Piepfish and more.

3. By having a well rounded natural food web in your aquarium, your tank will be more stable, creating your very own mini ecosystem.

Please note - this is a mixture of copepods and amphipods.

  • We have no way of determining what percentage will be amphipods or copepods or what you are more likely to receive (amphipods or copepods).
  • Pods are small - some our very small - especially if they are "toddlers".
  • You will not be able to count them - as we are unable to count them for each and every order - due to their size and speed.
  • To ensure that you get what you pay for, we use a measurement that has been counted and observed for a greater portion that 1000 per bag. To confirm, please observe the shear amount of life in the bag you receive after you gently thump the bag with your finger.
  • The transport media will literally crawl with life, so enjoy and please let us know immediately if there is an issue with your shipment.
